IntelliStaff Medical is hiring Postpartum Registered Nurses for full-time travel assignments across the United States. If you're passionate about supporting new moms and newborns during their first precious days together, this role is for you!

Job Details

  • Assignment Length: 13 weeks
  • Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Float Requirements: may be required to float within a 25 mile radius of the facility
  • Patient Ratios: varies 1:1, 2:1, 3:1

Qualifications of Postpartum RN

  • Active RN license in the state of assignment (state licensing assistance available).
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).
  • BLS and NRP certifications required.
  • Minimum of one year of recent experience in postpartum, mother-baby, or obstetric nursing preferred.
  • One year of American RN experience required.

Responsibilities and Duties of Postpartum RN

  • Provide nursing care and education to postpartum mothers and their newborns during recovery following childbirth.
  • Monitor maternal vital signs, uterine involution, and incision healing (if applicable).
  • Assess and support newborn feeding (breast or bottle), newborn vital signs, and basic care such as diapering and bathing.
  • Offer emotional support and guidance to new parents during a vulnerable and joyful time.
  • Educate families on postpartum recovery, newborn care, and when to seek further medical attention.
  • Ensure safe discharge planning by coordinating with social work and pediatric providers when needed.
