Qualifications for Obstetrics Registered Nurse (RN)
- Active Oregon RN license required prior to hire
- Idaho RN license required within six months of hire
- NCLEX-RN required for Canadian and Mexican RNs
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers from AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network required
- ACLS and PALS certifications required within six months of hire
- TNCC certification required within one year of hire
- Prior obstetrics or inpatient nursing experience preferred
Responsibilities of the Obstetrics RN
- Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care for obstetrical patients
- Assess, monitor, and support mothers and newborns
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal maternal outcomes
- Educate patients and families on prenatal, delivery, and postpartum care
- Maintain compliance with Joint Commission and state nursing standards
