IntelliStaff Medical is seeking Critical Care ICU Registered Nurses (RNs) for a full-time permanent position in Southern Illinois. This opportunity includes TN visa assistance for qualified Canadian and Mexican RNs, as well as U.S. state licensing support for North American nurses.

Job Overview; ICU Critical Care RN
An ICU Nurse provides specialised critical care to patients experiencing life-threatening conditions or recovering from major surgeries. ICU RNs continuously monitor vital signs, administer high-risk medications, operate and manage life-support equipment, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to manage complex medical needs. The ICU environment is fast-paced and requires strong clinical judgement, attention to detail, and calm decision-making under pressure; while still keeping compassion front and centre for patients and their families.
Qualifications of Critical Care ICU RN
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; state licensing assistance available
- License to practice in the State of Illinois
- Bachelors degree in Nursing
- NCLEX required for Canadian and Mexican RNs
- Current AHA ACLS or Red Cross ALS certification required within 30 days of hire
- At least one year of previous clinical experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with all members of the care team
- Requires physical stamina and emotional stability
Responsibilities and Duties of a Critical Care ICU RN
- Deliver safe, patient-centred critical care using assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Continuously monitor patient status, vital signs, and clinical trends; respond rapidly to deterioration and emergencies
- Administer medications and titrate drips per protocol and provider orders
- Operate and monitor ICU equipment including ventilators, cardiac monitors, and life-support devices
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate complex care plans
- Provide patient and family education, support, and clear communication during high-stress situations
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety, infection prevention, and quality standards
