New York Medical-Surgical Cardiac Registered Nurse (RN)

IntelliStaff Medical is recruiting experienced internationally educated Registered Nurses for full-time Medical-Surgical Cardiac opportunities in Rochester, New York. Applicants must be Canadian or Mexican citizens eligible for TN visa status and interested in establishing a long-term nursing career in the United States.

Position Overview

• Starting pay: $38.67 USD per hour
• Experience credit: Experienced nurses may be considered toward the higher end of the applicable pay range based on years and relevance of nursing experience
• Weekend Program: Participants receive an additional $7.00 USD per hour
• Hours: Full-time
• Shifts: Days, evenings and nights available
• Weekends and holidays: Rotating requirements
• Sign-on bonus: $5,000 USD
• Temporary housing: Up to 30 days
• Employment type: Full-time, direct hire with the hospital

Immigration & Green Card Pathway

Canadian and Mexican Registered Nurses may initially work in the United States under TN visa status.

After completing one year of successful employment and good standing, eligible nurses may begin the hospital's employment-based Green Card pathway, subject to employer approval, individual immigration eligibility and applicable U.S. immigration requirements.

Medical-Surgical Cardiac Nursing

Medical-Surgical Cardiac Registered Nurses care for adult patients with cardiovascular conditions who require acute nursing care, cardiac monitoring and coordinated treatment. Patient needs may include heart failure, arrhythmias, coronary artery disease, hypertension and recovery following cardiac procedures.

This position is a strong fit for nurses who enjoy combining traditional Medical-Surgical nursing with focused cardiovascular assessment, telemetry and patient education.

Responsibilities

• Complete initial and ongoing cardiovascular and general nursing assessments
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs and changes in patient condition
• Recognize arrhythmias and promptly escalate clinical concerns
• Administer medications, treatments and prescribed interventions
• Care for patients before and after cardiac procedures
• Develop and update individualized plans of care
• Coordinate care with physicians and multidisciplinary clinical teams
• Educate patients about medications, heart health and discharge plans
• Maintain accurate electronic clinical documentation
• Follow medication, infection-prevention and patient-safety protocols

Minimum Requirements

• Canadian or Mexican citizenship; required for TN visa eligibility
• Nursing diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing, BScN, BSN or equivalent
• Successful completion of the NCLEX-RN
• New York RN licence or demonstrated readiness to complete the licensing process
• Minimum one year of recent acute-care Medical-Surgical, cardiac or telemetry nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support certification
• Strong English communication and clinical documentation skills
• Ability to meet VisaScreen and TN visa requirements
• Interest in establishing a long-term career with the hospital

Telemetry experience and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification are strongly preferred.
