Full-Time Permanent Position

IntelliStaff Medical is seeking Registered Nurses for full-time, permanent positions on a Cardiac Medical Unit at a Level IV Trauma Center in the Boise area of Idaho.

This opportunity includes TN visa assistance for qualified Canadian and Mexican Registered Nurses, as well as Idaho licensing assistance for North American nurses.

Qualifications of a Cardiac Medical Unit RN

• Active Idaho Registered Nurse licence or eligibility for state licensing assistance
• Registered Nurses practising under a multistate licence must meet Idaho Board of Nursing residency requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing
• NCLEX-RN successfully completed
• Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross or Military Training Network required at the time of hire
• Recent acute-care, cardiac, telemetry or medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
• Canadian or Mexican citizenship required for candidates seeking TN visa assistance
• Strong cardiac assessment, organization and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and respond confidently to changes in patient condition
• Strong communication, documentation and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities and Duties of a Cardiac Medical Unit RN

• Provide professional nursing care to patients with cardiac and medical conditions
• Care for patients requiring additional observation for chest pain and other cardiac symptoms
• Monitor patients undergoing evaluation to rule out acute cardiac conditions
• Provide nursing care to observation and outpatient-status patients
• Complete comprehensive physical and psychosocial patient assessments
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs and changes in patient condition
• Recognize signs of cardiac deterioration and initiate appropriate interventions
• Develop, implement and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
• Administer prescribed medications, IV therapies and cardiac treatments
• Evaluate patients’ responses to medications and clinical interventions
• Prepare patients for cardiac testing, procedures and consultations
• Collaborate with cardiologists, hospitalists, Cath Lab professionals and other clinical team members
• Communicate patient status and plans of care verbally and in writing
• Educate patients and families about cardiac conditions, medications and lifestyle recommendations
• Coordinate safe discharge planning and transitions of care
• Maintain complete and accurate electronic health records
• Operate cardiac monitoring and patient-care equipment safely
• Follow hospital safety policies, clinical protocols and professional nursing standards
• Practise according to the rules and regulations of the Idaho Board of Nursing
