New Emergency and Urgent Care Facility | January 2027 Start
IntelliStaff Medical is seeking experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurses for full-time, permanent positions at a new emergency and urgent care facility opening in coastal South Carolina.
Registered Nurses are expected to begin in January 2027. All shifts are available.
This position includes TN visa assistance for qualified Canadian and Mexican Registered Nurses, as well as state licensing assistance for North American nurses.
You will work as a direct employee of the client healthcare organization and receive the compensation, benefits and professional opportunities that come with permanent hospital employment.
Qualifications of an Emergency Room RN
- Active South Carolina RN licence or eligibility for state licensing assistance
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing
- NCLEX-RN successfully completed
- Minimum one year of recent Emergency Room or Emergency Department nursing experience
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required before the first clinical shift
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification required
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification preferred
- Certified Emergency Nurse designation preferred
- Trauma Nursing Core Course certification preferred
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course certification preferred
- Canadian or Mexican citizenship required for candidates seeking TN visa assistance
- Strong emergency assessment, triage and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to begin employment in January 2027
Responsibilities and Duties of an Emergency Room RN
- Provide emergency nursing care to adult and pediatric patients experiencing illnesses, injuries and potentially life-threatening conditions
- Complete rapid patient assessments and prioritize care according to clinical acuity
- Develop, implement and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
- Deliver high-intensity therapies, emergency interventions and stabilization measures
- Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate early interventions
- Notify physicians and other clinical team members of significant changes
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products and other prescribed treatments
- Perform clinical procedures, including IV insertion, specimen collection and blood draws
- Assist physicians with intubation, resuscitation and other emergency procedures
- Prepare patients for surgery, diagnostic imaging and laboratory testing
- Stabilize patients requiring inpatient admission or specialized hospital care
- Coordinate safe patient transfers to an appropriate inpatient hospital
- Educate, support and comfort patients and families during medical emergencies
- Communicate closely with physicians, paramedics and other members of the clinical team
- Direct ancillary personnel involved in implementing the patient’s plan of care
- Assume charge responsibilities when assigned
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records
- Practise in accordance with the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act, professional nursing ethics, organizational policies and nursing standards
About the Facility
This new, full-service freestanding facility will combine an Emergency Room and urgent care centre in one location. It is scheduled to open in early 2027 and will expand access to emergency and immediate care throughout South Carolina’s Lowcountry.
Patients will not need to determine whether they require emergency or urgent care before arriving. Each patient will be promptly assessed and directed to the appropriate level of treatment.
The facility will:
- Treat minor illnesses and injuries requiring prompt medical attention
- Provide emergency care for life-threatening and limb-threatening conditions
- Be staffed by emergency-trained physicians, Registered Nurses and clinical support professionals
- Be equipped similarly to a traditional hospital Emergency Department
- Accept walk-in patients and patients arriving by ambulance
- Provide rapid assessment and patient prioritization
- Stabilize patients requiring advanced or inpatient care
- Coordinate transportation to an inpatient hospital when admission is necessary
- Provide modern treatment spaces, technology and nursing workstations
- Create approximately 50 new employment opportunities in the surrounding community
