Position Overview

IntelliStaff Medical is recruiting Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Registered Nurses for full-time opportunities with a U.S. hospital in Central Maine. In this role, you will support patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures while working as a direct employee of the hospital.

This opportunity is open to Canadian and Mexican citizens eligible for TN visa status.

Green card and permanent residency sponsorship may be available to qualified candidates after 90 days of employment.

Compensation

• Competitive hourly rate based on experience
• $15,000 sign-on bonus available to qualified candidates; complete terms will be discussed during the interview

Qualifications of a Cath Lab RN

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree required
• Canadian or Mexican citizenship required for TN visa eligibility
• NCLEX-RN successfully completed
• Active Maine RN licence or eligibility to obtain one
• BLS certification required upon hire
• ACLS certification required within 30 days of hire
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation and ECG knowledge required
• Strong sterile technique, clinical assessment and emergency-response skills
• Ability to administer and monitor moderate sedation according to hospital policies

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide nursing care before, during and after cardiac catheterization procedures
• Prepare and assess patients for diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures
• Assist with coronary angiography, cardiac catheterization, angioplasty and stent placement
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, oxygen saturation, blood pressure and haemodynamic status throughout procedures
• Administer medications, IV therapies, anticoagulants and moderate sedation as ordered
• Maintain sterile technique and prepare procedural equipment, supplies and medications
• Operate and monitor specialized Cath Lab equipment according to training and hospital policies
• Recognize and respond rapidly to arrhythmias, haemodynamic instability, allergic reactions and other procedural emergencies
• Assist with emergency cardiac interventions when required
• Monitor vascular access sites and identify bleeding, haematoma or circulation complications
• Provide post-procedure care, patient education and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with cardiologists, technologists, anaesthesia providers and other clinical professionals
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards
• Follow radiation safety, infection prevention and medication safety protocols
• Participate in an on-call schedule and respond to urgent cardiac cases when assigned
