Position Overview
IntelliStaff Medical is recruiting Labour and Delivery Registered Nurses for full-time positions with a U.S. hospital in Central Maine. You will provide direct nursing care throughout labour, delivery and the immediate postpartum period while working as a direct employee of the hospital.
This opportunity is open to Canadian and Mexican citizens who qualify for TN visa status.
Green card and permanent residency sponsorship may be available to qualified candidates after 90 days of employment.
New graduate Registered Nurses are welcome to apply.
Compensation
- Competitive hourly rate based on experience
- $15,000 sign-on bonus available to qualified candidates; complete terms will be discussed during the interview

Qualifications of a Labour and Delivery RN
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree required
- Canadian or Mexican citizenship required for TN visa eligibility
- NCLEX-RN successfully completed
- Active Maine RN licence or eligibility to obtain one
- BLS certification required within 30 days of hire
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification required within 90 days of hire
- Basic fetal monitoring certification required within 60 days of hire
- Strong clinical assessment, communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure and rapidly changing clinical situations
- Previous Labour and Delivery, maternity, obstetrics or women’s health experience is an asset; new graduates are welcome to apply
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide nursing care to patients throughout labour, delivery and the immediate recovery period
- Complete maternal and fetal assessments and identify changes requiring clinical intervention
- Monitor fetal heart rates, contraction patterns and maternal vital signs
- Support patients during spontaneous, induced and assisted labour
- Assist physicians and other clinical professionals during vaginal and operative deliveries
- Prepare patients and clinical areas for scheduled and emergency Caesarean sections
- Administer medications, IV therapies and pain-management treatments as ordered
- Recognize and respond promptly to obstetrical emergencies, including fetal distress, postpartum haemorrhage and hypertensive complications
- Provide immediate newborn assessments and assist with neonatal resuscitation when required
- Support skin-to-skin contact, breastfeeding and early parent-newborn bonding
- Educate patients and families about labour, recovery, newborn care and discharge instructions
- Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, anaesthesia providers, paediatric professionals and other members of the interdisciplinary care group
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards
- Follow infection prevention, medication safety and patient identification protocols
- Promote respectful, culturally sensitive and family-centred maternity care
