New York Medical-Surgical Pulmonary Registered Nurse (RN)

IntelliStaff Medical is recruiting experienced internationally educated Registered Nurses for full-time Medical-Surgical Pulmonary opportunities in Rochester, New York. Applicants must be Canadian or Mexican citizens eligible for TN visa status and interested in establishing a long-term nursing career in the United States.

Position Overview

• Starting pay: $38.67 USD per hour
• Experience credit: Starting pay may increase based on years of nursing experience
• Hours: Full-time
• Shifts: Days, evenings and nights available
• Weekends and holidays: Rotating requirements
• Sign-on bonus: $5,000 USD
• Temporary housing: Up to 30 days

Medical-Surgical Pulmonary Nursing

Medical-Surgical Pulmonary Registered Nurses care for adult patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions. Patients may be receiving treatment for pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, respiratory infections, pleural conditions and other complex medical diagnoses.

This opportunity is ideal for nurses who are confident completing respiratory assessments, managing oxygen therapy and working closely with respiratory therapists and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Complete initial and ongoing respiratory and general nursing assessments
• Monitor oxygen saturation, respiratory effort and changes in patient condition
• Administer medications, oxygen therapy and prescribed treatments
• Recognize respiratory deterioration and escalate concerns promptly
• Provide tracheostomy and pulmonary care within the nurse’s scope and training
• Develop and update individualized plans of care
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and other clinical professionals
• Educate patients about medications, breathing treatments and discharge plans
• Maintain accurate electronic clinical documentation
• Follow medication, infection-prevention and patient-safety protocols

Minimum Requirements

• Canadian or Mexican citizenship; required for TN visa eligibility
• Nursing diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing, BScN, BSN or equivalent
• Successful completion of the NCLEX-RN
• New York RN licence or demonstrated readiness to complete the licensing process
• Minimum one year of recent acute-care Medical-Surgical, pulmonary or respiratory nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support certification
• Strong English communication and clinical documentation skills
• Ability to meet VisaScreen and TN visa requirements
• Interest in establishing a long-term career with the hospital

Experience with tracheostomies, oxygen therapy, respiratory monitoring or medically complex pulmonary patients is strongly preferred.

Immigration Pathway

Qualified candidates will initially enter the United States under TN visa status. After one year of successful employment and good standing, eligible nurses may transition to H-1B status. Following an additional year of successful employment and good standing, eligible nurses may proceed with the EB-3 employment-based permanent residence process.

Each immigration step is conditional upon continued employment, good standing, individual eligibility, employer approval and applicable U.S. immigration laws and government processing.
