Full-Time Permanent Position
A client hospital of IntelliStaff Medical is hiring an experienced Obstetrics Registered Nurse for a full-time, permanent position in Ontario, Oregon.
This opportunity includes TN visa assistance for qualified Canadian and Mexican Registered Nurses, along with Oregon and Idaho licensing assistance for North American nurses.

Qualifications of an Obstetrics RN
- Active Oregon Registered Nurse licence required before the employment start date
- Active Idaho Registered Nurse licence required within six months of hire
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing
- NCLEX-RN successfully completed
- Previous obstetrics, Labor and Delivery, postpartum or inpatient nursing experience preferred
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross or Military Training Network required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification required within six months of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification required within six months of hire
- Trauma Nursing Core Course certification required within one year of hire
- Canadian or Mexican citizenship required for candidates seeking TN visa assistance
- Strong maternal and newborn assessment skills
- Ability to recognize and respond to obstetrical emergencies
- Strong patient-education, communication and documentation skills
Responsibilities and Duties of an Obstetrics RN
- Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to obstetrical patients and newborns
- Complete comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments
- Assess and monitor maternal and fetal conditions
- Monitor fetal heart-rate patterns and promptly report concerning changes
- Develop, implement and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
- Support patients throughout labour, delivery, recovery and postpartum care
- Administer prescribed medications, IV therapies and obstetrical treatments
- Assist physicians and other maternity professionals during deliveries
- Prepare patients for scheduled or emergency Caesarean deliveries
- Recognize and respond to maternal, fetal and newborn emergencies
- Monitor patients for postpartum haemorrhage, hypertension, infection and other complications
- Complete newborn assessments and support healthy newborn transition
- Promote bonding, feeding and family-centred maternity care
- Educate patients and families about prenatal care, delivery, postpartum recovery and newborn care
- Respect cultural backgrounds, personal preferences and individual birth plans when clinically appropriate
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia professionals and other members of the interdisciplinary team
- Coordinate discharge planning and follow-up care
- Document maternal, fetal and newborn assessments accurately
- Follow hospital safety policies, evidence-based protocols and professional nursing standards
- Practise according to the requirements of the Oregon and Idaho boards of nursing
