Full-Time Permanent Position

IntelliStaff Medical is seeking Registered Nurses for full-time, permanent positions on a combined Orthopedic and Medical-Surgical unit at a hospital in the Boise area of Idaho.

This opportunity includes TN visa assistance for qualified Canadian and Mexican Registered Nurses, as well as Idaho licensing assistance for North American nurses.

Qualifications of a Medical-Surgical Orthopedic RN

• Active Idaho Registered Nurse licence or eligibility for state licensing assistance
• Registered Nurses practising under a multistate licence must establish Idaho residency within 60 days of hire
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• NCLEX-RN successfully completed
• Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required at the time of hire
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support or Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification may be accepted in place of Basic Life Support
• Recent acute-care, medical-surgical or orthopedic nursing experience preferred
• Canadian or Mexican citizenship required for candidates seeking TN visa assistance
• Strong clinical assessment, organization and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to care for patients with varied medical, surgical and orthopedic needs
• Strong communication, collaboration and patient-education skills

Responsibilities and Duties of a Medical-Surgical Orthopedic RN

• Provide professional nursing care to patients with medical, surgical and orthopedic conditions
• Complete comprehensive physical and psychosocial patient assessments
• Develop, implement and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
• Monitor patient conditions and recognize significant clinical changes
• Administer prescribed medications, treatments and IV therapies
• Evaluate patient responses to medications and clinical interventions
• Provide preoperative and postoperative nursing care
• Support patients recovering from orthopedic procedures, injuries and mobility-related conditions
• Assist with pain management, mobility, wound care and fall prevention
• Collaborate with physicians, Virtual RNs, bedside nurses, CNAs, therapists and other clinical professionals
• Delegate appropriate patient-care activities to members of the nursing team
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, medications and discharge plans
• Promote patients’ physical, emotional and spiritual well-being
• Serve as a patient advocate throughout the hospital stay
• Use clinical resources, equipment and supplies responsibly
• Maintain complete and accurate electronic health records
• Follow hospital safety policies, infection-prevention practices and professional nursing standards
• Practise according to the rules and regulations of the Idaho Board of Nursing

This 36-bed inpatient unit cares for patients with a broad range of medical, surgical and orthopedic conditions. The variety of diagnoses and patient needs provides Registered Nurses with opportunities to strengthen their assessment, time-management and acute-care nursing skills.

Patient populations may include individuals:

• Recovering from orthopedic surgery
• Receiving preoperative or postoperative care
• Experiencing acute and chronic medical conditions
• Requiring pain management and mobility support
• Recovering from injuries or musculoskeletal conditions
• Preparing for rehabilitation, discharge or continued care

The unit follows a collaborative nursing model that brings together Virtual RNs, bedside Registered Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants.
