Idaho Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (ICU RN)

Full-Time Permanent Position | 12-Hour Night Shifts

IntelliStaff Medical is seeking experienced Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurses for full-time, permanent positions at a Level III Trauma Center in the Boise area of Idaho.

This position includes TN visa assistance for qualified Canadian and Mexican Registered Nurses, as well as Idaho licensing assistance for North American nurses.

You will work as a direct employee of the client hospital and receive the compensation, benefits and professional opportunities that come with permanent hospital employment.

Qualifications of an Intensive Care Unit RN

• Active Idaho or multistate Registered Nurse licence; Idaho licensing assistance is available
• Nurses practising under a multistate licence must establish residency with the Idaho Board of Nursing within six months of hire
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing
• NCLEX-RN successfully completed
• Minimum two years of recent Intensive Care Unit nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification or willingness to obtain it within six months of hire
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification or willingness to obtain it within 12 months of hire
• Canadian or Mexican citizenship required for candidates seeking TN visa assistance
• Experience caring for medically complex and critically ill adult patients
• Strong critical-thinking, assessment and emergency-response skills
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts

Responsibilities and Duties of an ICU RN

• Provide life-saving nursing care to adult patients experiencing complex and potentially life-threatening conditions
• Complete comprehensive assessments and continuously monitor patients’ conditions, vital signs and responses to treatment
• Use advanced clinical skills to assess, stabilize and care for critically ill patients
• Implement high-intensity therapies, treatments and emergency interventions
• Manage respiratory support and care for patients requiring mechanical ventilation
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products and other prescribed treatments
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond quickly during emergency situations
• Apply evidence-based practices and protocols to support patient safety and comfort
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds to improve patient outcomes and continuity of care
• Collaborate with intensivists, physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists and other clinical professionals
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of patient assessments, treatments and progress
• Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatments and recovery plans
• Provide emotional support to patients and families during medical crises
• Maintain a supportive, compassionate and patient-centred environment
