Maine Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

IntelliStaff Medical is seeking Operating Room Registered Nurses (RNs) for full-time, permanent positions at a hospital in Central Maine. Qualifications of an Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

• Canadian or Mexican citizenship required for TN visa eligibility
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required
• NCLEX-RN successfully completed
• Active Maine Registered Nurse licence or eligibility to obtain one
• Current Basic Life Support certification upon hire or as required
• Recent acute-care Operating Room, perioperative or RN Circulator experience preferred
• Ability to circulate surgical procedures while maintaining patient and Operating Room safety
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, documentation and organizational skills
• Additional certifications may be required based on surgical specialty and patient acuity

Responsibilities of an Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

• Provide safe, patient-centred perioperative nursing care
• Assess and prepare patients before surgical procedures
• Coordinate patient care before, during and immediately after surgery
• Advocate for patients while they are under anesthesia
• Maintain the integrity of the sterile field
• Confirm that surgical instruments, supplies and equipment are available and functioning
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers and other Operating Room professionals
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products and prescribed treatments
• Operate and monitor clinical equipment used in the Operating Room
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Provide detailed handover reports to the post-anesthesia care team
• Follow surgical safety, infection-prevention and regulatory standards
• Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery and discharge instructions

Registered Nurse Compensation and Incentives

• $36.00 to $49.16 USD per hour
• Exact compensation is based on relevant experience, education, credentials and licensure
• Sign-on bonus available for qualified Registered Nurses
