Position Overview
IntelliStaff Medical is seeking Pre-Operative and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurses (RNs) for full-time opportunities with a U.S. hospital in Southeast Texas. In this role, you will provide safe, high-quality nursing care to surgical patients during the immediate pre-operative and post-anesthesia recovery periods. You will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and a smooth surgical experience.
This opportunity is open to Canadian and Mexican citizens eligible for the TN visa.
Compensation
Base Rate:
$35.00 – $40.00 USD/hour

Qualifications of PACU RN
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Canadian or Mexican citizenship required for TN visa eligibility
- Active Texas RN license or eligibility for Texas licensure
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- NCLEX required
- VisaScreen completed or in process preferred
- Minimum two years of recent PACU, Recovery Room, Surgical Services, Critical Care, or Emergency Department experience
- Minimum two years of recent nursing experience in a large Canadian or U.S. acute care hospital required
- Current BLS certification required
- Current ACLS certification required
- PALS certification required
Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform comprehensive pre-operative and post-anesthesia nursing assessments
- Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures
- Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications, IV therapies, pain management, and other prescribed treatments
- Monitor airway, respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological status during recovery
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, physicians, and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals
- Prepare patients and families by providing education regarding procedures, recovery, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
- Advocate for patient safety, privacy, informed consent, and quality care throughout the surgical experience
- Support efficient patient flow within the perioperative department
