Position Overview

IntelliStaff Medical is seeking Acute Adult Psychiatry Registered Nurses (RNs) for full-time opportunities with a U.S. hospital in the Greater Chicago region. In this role, you will provide compassionate, patient-centred care to individuals experiencing acute mental health conditions in a structured inpatient setting.

This opportunity is open to Canadian and Mexican citizens eligible for the TN visa.

Green card and permanent residency sponsorship is available for qualified candidates after 3 months of employment.

Compensation

• $35.35 – $53.58/hour based on experience
• Up to $10,000 sign-on bonus available (details discussed during interview)

Qualifications of Psychiatric RN

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required
• Canadian or Mexican citizenship (TN visa eligibility required)
• Active RN license (or eligibility) in the State of Illinois
• NCLEX required
• BLS required upon hire
• Working knowledge of mental health laws, standards, and behavioural health care practices
• Experience in psychiatric or behavioural health nursing preferred

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide direct nursing care to patients experiencing acute mental health conditions
• Conduct comprehensive mental and physical health assessments
• Administer psychiatric medications and monitor for therapeutic and adverse effects
• Lead and participate in therapeutic group sessions and patient activities
• Perform crisis intervention, including de-escalation and management of aggressive behaviours
• Implement and monitor care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
• Ensure safe use of seclusion and restraints in accordance with policies and regulations
• Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, medications, and coping strategies
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards
• Promote a safe, therapeutic environment while ensuring patient dignity and confidentiality
