Position Overview

IntelliStaff Medical is seeking Cath Lab Registered Nurses (RNs), Cardiac Catheterization Nurses, and Cardiac RNs for a full-time direct-hire opportunity with a U.S. hospital in Northern Nevada. In this role, you will provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and other cardiovascular procedures while working closely with cardiologists and an experienced interdisciplinary cardiac care team.

This position requires strong cardiac assessment skills, hemodynamic monitoring experience, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to recognize and respond rapidly to changes in a patient's condition during invasive cardiovascular procedures.

This opportunity is open to Canadian and Mexican citizens eligible for the TN visa.

Qualifications of Cath Lab RN

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Canadian or Mexican citizenship required for TN visa eligibility
  • Active Nevada RN license or eligibility for Nevada RN licensure
  • NCLEX-RN required
  • VisaScreen completed or in process preferred for international applicants
  • Recent acute care hospital nursing experience preferred
  • Recent Cath Lab, Cardiac Catheterization, Interventional Cardiology, Critical Care, ICU, or other high-acuity cardiac nursing experience preferred
  • Strong cardiac assessment and hemodynamic monitoring skills
  • Ability to recognize and respond rapidly to changes in cardiovascular and hemodynamic status
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification required
  • Current American Heart Association ACLS certification required
  • Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and cardiovascular procedures
  • Perform comprehensive pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure patient assessments
  • Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, hemodynamic status, oxygenation, and patient response during procedures
  • Recognize abnormal findings and rapidly communicate significant changes in patient condition to the cardiologist and cardiovascular team
  • Assist cardiologists and other healthcare professionals during invasive cardiac procedures
  • Prepare patients for procedures and ensure required assessments, documentation, medications, and safety checks are completed
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and prescribed treatments safely and accurately
  • Respond rapidly to cardiac emergencies, arrhythmias, hemodynamic instability, and other complications
  • Interpret and communicate relevant diagnostic findings and abnormal results
  • Monitor patients following cardiac procedures and identify potential complications such as bleeding, vascular complications, arrhythmias, or changes in cardiovascular status
  • Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery, medications, activity restrictions, and follow-up care
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation while protecting patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, technologists, and other members of the cardiovascular care team to promote continuity of care and positive patient outcomes
