Position Overview
IntelliStaff Medical is seeking Medical/Surgical Orthopedic Registered Nurses (RNs) for full-time opportunities with a U.S. hospital in the Central Maine region. In this role, you will care for patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, and musculoskeletal conditions, helping them regain mobility and function.
This opportunity is open to Canadian and Mexican citizens eligible for the TN visa.
Green card and permanent residency sponsorship is available for qualified candidates after 3 months of employment.
Compensation
- Competitive hourly rates based on experience
- $15,000 sign-on bonus available for qualified candidates (details discussed during interview)

Qualifications of Orthopedic RN
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required
- Canadian or Mexican citizenship (TN visa eligibility required)
- Active RN license (or eligibility) in the State of Maine
- NCLEX required
- BLS required upon hire
- ACLS preferred within 30 days of hire
- Previous acute care experience preferred
- Experience in orthopedic or post-surgical care considered an asset
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries such as joint replacements, fractures, and spinal procedures
- Perform detailed patient assessments, including neurovascular checks and mobility evaluations
- Manage pain control using medications, PCA pumps, and non-pharmacological interventions
- Assist patients with early mobilization, ambulation, and rehabilitation activities
- Monitor surgical sites, dressings, and drains for signs of infection or complications
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with physicians, physiotherapists, and interdisciplinary teams to support recovery goals
- Educate patients and families on post-operative care, mobility precautions, and discharge planning
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and patient safety standards
