Position Overview
IntelliStaff Medical is seeking PACU / Peri-Anesthesia Registered Nurses (RNs) for full-time opportunities with a U.S. hospital in the Central Maine region. In this role, you will provide specialized post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgical procedures, ensuring safe and effective recovery in a fast-paced perioperative environment.
This opportunity is open to Canadian and Mexican citizens eligible for the TN visa.
Green card and permanent residency sponsorship is available for qualified candidates after 3 months of employment.
Compensation
- Competitive hourly rates based on experience
- $15,000 sign-on bonus available for qualified candidates (details discussed during interview)

Qualifications of PACU RN
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required
- Canadian or Mexican citizenship (TN visa eligibility required)
- Active RN license (or eligibility) in the State of Maine
- NCLEX required
- BLS required upon hire
- ACLS and PALS required within 30 days of hire
- Minimum 1 year of perioperative or PACU experience preferred
- CNOR certification preferred
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgical and procedural sedation
- Perform continuous patient assessments, including airway management, vital signs, and level of consciousness
- Monitor for complications such as respiratory distress, bleeding, or adverse reactions to anesthesia
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and pain management therapies safely and effectively
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams to ensure continuity of care
- Prepare patients for discharge by evaluating recovery progress and meeting established criteria
- Educate patients and families on post-operative care, medications, and recovery expectations
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and patient safety standards
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to urgent perioperative needs as required
