Position Overview
IntelliStaff Medical is seeking Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurses (RNs) for full-time opportunities with a U.S. hospital in the Central Maine region. In this role, you will provide specialized, high-acuity care to newborns requiring intensive medical support while working as a direct employee of the hospital.
This opportunity is open to Canadian and Mexican citizens eligible for the TN visa.
Green card and permanent residency sponsorship is available for qualified candidates after 3 months of employment.
Compensation
- Competitive hourly rates based on experience
- $15,000 sign-on bonus available for qualified candidates (details discussed during interview)

Qualifications of NICU RN
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required
- Canadian or Mexican citizenship (TN visa eligibility required)
- Active RN license (or eligibility) in the State of Maine
- NCLEX required
- BLS required within 30 days of hire
- NRP required within 90 days of hire
- Basic fetal monitoring certification required within 60 days
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience; NICU experience preferred
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill and premature newborns in the NICU
- Perform detailed neonatal assessments and continuously monitor vital signs and clinical status
- Operate and manage advanced neonatal equipment, including incubators, ventilators, and monitoring systems
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and nutritional support tailored to neonatal patients
- Recognize and respond rapidly to changes in a newborn’s condition
- Collaborate with neonatologists and interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans
- Support and educate parents on newborn care, feeding, and discharge planning
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control and patient safety protocols
- Promote a safe, supportive, and family-centred care environment
