Journeyman Carpenter – Residential Construction (Nunavut-Based)

IntelliStaff is seeking skilled Journeyman Carpenters for full-time contract positions in Nunavut. You’ll be an integral part of local residential construction teams, focused on delivering quality housing that can withstand extreme northern conditions. These are live-in-community roles—no fly-in/fly-out options—ideal for those looking for stable, long-term work in a place where their skills make a visible difference.

Key Responsibilities

• Frame, construct, and finish homes based on architectural plans.

• Install doors, windows, cabinetry, millwork, trim, flooring, and siding.

• Perform renovations, retrofits, and new builds with a focus on cold-climate construction techniques.

• Collaborate with electricians, plumbers, and other trades to ensure coordinated workflows.

• Maintain safe and organized worksites in remote settings.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Carpenter license (Red Seal endorsement preferred).

• Minimum 5 years of residential construction experience.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to adapt to remote, resource-limited environments.

• Familiarity with building code and structural standards.

• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
