Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) Job

Qualifications of Emergency Room RN

• Active RN license in Texas or eligible for licensure. Licensing assistance is available.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• NCLEX-RN required for Canadian and Mexican RNs.
• BLS required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.
• ASLS certification preferred.
• New graduates may be considered; one year of Emergency Room experience preferred.

Responsibilities and Duties of an Emergency Room RN

• Provide life-saving care, complex assessments, and rapid interventions to both adult and pediatric emergency patients.
• Communicate closely with physicians, specialists, and the broader medical team.
• Educate, support, and reassure patients and families during medical emergencies.
• Recognize early signs of deterioration and initiate rapid response or escalation.
• Perform a variety of clinical procedures including IV insertion, medication administration, blood collection, and emergency interventions.
• Prepare patients for surgery, imaging, or advanced diagnostic testing when required.
