Addiction and Mental Health Registered Nurse Job

IntelliStaff Medical is seeking dedicated and compassionate Addiction and Mental Health registered nurses for full-time permanent positions. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care to patients dealing with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This role requires a strong commitment to patient-centered care, evidence-based treatment, and a holistic approach to recovery.
This position includes TN visa assistance to qualified Canadian and Mexican RNs as well as licensing services to North American nurses.
With this Behavioral Health/Psychiatry registered nurse position, you will work as a direct employee of the hospital and receive all the benefits that entails.

Qualifications of Psych RN:

• Active RN license in specified state. State licensing assistance is available.
• Bachelor’s degrees in nursing.
• NCLEX for Canadian and Mexican RNs.
• Certification in Addiction Nursing (CARN) preferred.
• BLS required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in addiction treatment, mental health, or a related field. Experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings is highly desirable.

Responsibilities and Duties of a Mental Health RN:

• Patient Assessment and Care: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical and mental health status. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
• Medication Management: Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patients for side effects and effectiveness. Ensure adherence to detox protocols and manage withdrawal symptoms.
• Therapeutic Interventions: Provide therapeutic interventions including individual counseling, group therapy sessions, and crisis intervention. Facilitate small group sessions and family therapy.
• Education and Support: Educate patients and their families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and the recovery process. Provide resources and support for ongoing recovery.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated and comprehensive care.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
• Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Maintain a safe and clean working environment, ensuring infection control and patient confidentiality.
• Continuing Education: Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with best practices in addiction and mental health nursing.
